Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny) View From the Cellar, 12/31/2005, Bonus Articles, John Gilman 91 The 2001 Roumier Chambolle AC is as good of a vintage for this wine that I have tasted since the lovely 1996. The nose is wonderfully transparent and complex, offering up a mélange of black cherries, plums, violets, chalky soil tones, blood orange, dark chocolate and just a touch of wood. On the palate the wine is fullish, complex and displays lovely succulence and cut, with fine depth at the core, impressive transparency, and a long, tangy and modestly tannic finish. This is really a very impressive village wine. (drink 2007-2025)

Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny) Burghound, 3/5/2004, Allen Meadows (web) 88 (contains around 10% premier cru juice from Les Combottes and Fuées). Earthy and rustic fruit yet the direct, linear firm flavors are quite pure and this finishes with an edgy character and solid acidity. A really beautiful wine that has come together even better than I originally thought that it would. (drink starting 2006)
