1996 Henriot Champagne Brut Millésimé (France, Champagne) View From the Cellar, 5/1/2008, May/Jun 2008, John Gilman 93 The 1996 Brut Millésime from Henriot is an excellent example of this fine vintage, and is showing extremely well at age twelve. The bouquet is deep, vibrant and complex, as it offers up notes of apple, bread dough, a nice touch of orange zest and a very gentle base of yeasty toastiness. On the palate the wine is fullish, fresh and complex, with an excellent core of fruit, fine mousse, good acids and focus and a long, poised finish that closes with beautiful balance and lovely grip. A really fine bottle and one of the sleepers of the vintage. (drink 2008-2030)
